[ City Producer ]
 

Job Description
Oversees all city-specific aspects of the production quality and of the actor, audience, and judges’ experience of Monologue Madness to ensure a successful annual tour of the competition.

 

Duties

Reports directly to the Executive Producer. Responsible for advising Executive Producer regarding local hiring and management of artistic and administrative staff; advises Executive Producer on local event budget, local venues, local marketing, and sponsorship strategy, and offers guidance to event staff to help successfully carry out their respective job duties. May serve as event host & emcee.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Background in theatre and film and/or casting and familiarity with both industries.

  • Experience in event production.

  • Self-motivated, efficient, creative, independent worker.

  • Comfortable networking and multi-tasking.

  • Proven staff leader.

  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalency.

 

Salary

 

       $500-$1000 stipend

[ Stage Manager ]
 

Job Description
 

The Stage Manager works alongside the City and/or Executive Producer to manage the actor registration and audition process and to call the live event on the competition evening.


Duties

  • Oversees the online actor registration process and schedules actor open call auditions

  • Oversees the open call check-in and judges’ scoring process in coordination with the City and/or Executive Producer

  • Calls the live show on competition evening in coordination with City and/or Executive Producer, Lighting Designer, Sound Board Op, Projections Designer, and any other venue technical staff.

  • Must be familiar with event format and history.

 

 

Qualifications

  • Background in theatre and/or film stage management or production assistance.

  • Self-motivated, efficient, creative, independent worker.

  • Comfortable multi-tasking.

  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalency in Stage Management or Production Assistance.

 

Salary

 

       $300-$500 stipend

[ Lighting Designer & Operator ]
 

Job Description

Oversees all aspects of event lighting and operation based on event script, in coordination with event Stage Manager and any other venue technical staff required by venue

Duties

  • Design simple lighting plot to allow for Stage Left, Stage Right, and FULL lighting of event stage.

  • Operate lighting board for run of show

  • Follow provided script and work with Stage Manager regarding lighting cues

  • Available on evening of show and one site visit if necessary

 

Qualifications

  • Background in lighting for theatre or live events.

  • Bachelor’s degree or work experience equivalency in lighting for theatre or live events.

 

Salary

 

       $250-$350 minimum stipend

[ Projections Designer & Operator ]
 

Job Description

Oversees the creation and operation of projections that will be used during live competition event.  



Duties

  • Prepares projection slides based on City Producer’s final script which includes tournament bracket, headshots, order of performances, and sponsor slides

  • Works alongside Tabulator to update projection slides (actor headshots and bracket) throughout event as actors are eliminated

 

 

Qualifications

  • Expertise in PowerPoint or similar program to create slides based on Executive Producer notes

  • Ability to work efficiently during live event to update slide material

  • Graphic design experience


Salary

 

       $250-$400 minimum stipend

[ Sound Board Operator ]
 

Job Description

Individual runs sound board and microphones during live event.



Duties

  • Use sound input device (laptop or iPad) to play digital pre-show and filler music throughout event

  • Runs microphone for on-stage emcee

 

 

Qualifications

  • Sound designer, operator, or DJ experience

  • Works alongside Stage Manager to run sound cues based on highlighted event script


Salary

 

       $100- $200 minimum stipend

[ Videographer ]
 

Job Description

Captures entire live event (actors, audience, judges, front of house) via film and audio for marketing purposes

Duties

  • Works alongside Stage Manager for placement within theatre space

  • Reports to City Producer to ensure that all raw video files are released to MM within 24 hours of event

  • Ability to capture clean audio via boom mic or lapel mics for actors

 

 

Qualifications

  • Background in video and film production; live event videography


Salary

 

       $300-$500 minimum stipend

[ Video Editor ]
 

Job Description

Video editor shall edit live event footage for marketing and archival purposes in coordination with the City and Executive Producer.

Duties

  • Edit live footage provided by Videographer with guidance from City and Executive Producer.

  • Ability to work efficiently to produce final cut to Executive Producer

  • Background and experience in video and film editing


Salary

 

       $300-$500 minimum stipend

[ Photographer ]
 

Job Description

Captures entire live event (actors, audience, judges, front of house) via still images for marketing purposes

Duties

  • Works alongside Stage Manager for placement within theatre space

  • Reports to City Producer to ensure that all highlight files are released to MM within one week of event

 

Qualifications

  • Background in live event non-flash photography

  • Portfolio of previous work


Salary

 

       $350-$500 minimum stipend

[ Director of Marketing ]
 

Job Description
 

Director of Marketing oversees all aspects of event marketing including print, radio, and news media press, social media, website updates, and merchandising. Also responsible for creating and managing any graphic design and print collateral to be used for front of house and on stage set pieces, with guidance from Executive Producer, City Producer, and Stage Manager. 

Duties

 

  • Generate press releases and event updates

  • Generate social media content and website updates

  • Monitors growth of social media followership, marketing analytics, and meets engagement goals set forth by Executive Producer

  • Oversees merchandise design and creation and offers guidance to Executive and City Producer on merchandise inventory

  • Helps fulfil publicity, sales, and registration goals set forth by Executive and City Producers

  • Collaborates with Director of Sponsorship to ensure sponsorship programming is fulfilled

 

Qualifications
 

  • Background and experience in marketing, publicity, and/or public relations.

  • Must be familiar with event format and history.

  • Ability to work efficiently, independently, and communicate effectively

       $500 minimum stipend per event

[ Director of Sponsorship ]
 

Job Description

Responsible for securing corporate and individual sponsorships throughout the Monologue Madness tour which meet budget goals established by Executive Producer


Duties

  • Generates sponsorship packages in collaboration with Director of Marketing, Executive Producer, and City Producer.

  • Generate sponsorship leads; creative individual who thinks outside the box to acquire sponsors and maximize ROI of sponsorship funds.

  • Collaborates with Director of Marketing to create sponsorship packaging and programming

 

Qualifications

  • Familiarity with event format and history

  • Basic familiarity with film and theatre industry

  • At least a five-year background in sponsorship, development, and/or fundraising

  • Knowledge of corporate and individual giving protocol

  • Ability to seek sponsorships independently with guidance from Producers

  • Ability to seek and attend appropriate networking events in order to generate sponsorship leads

       $350-$500 minimum stipend per event

[ Box Office Manager ]
 

Job Description

Responsible for overseeing all aspects of online audience ticketing and front-of-house box office management. Supervises Box Office Assistant.


Duties

  • Responsible for establishing online audience ticketing via Eventbrite ticketing platform.

  • Reports ticketing updates to City Producer and Director of Marketing

  • Supervises all aspects of front-of-house ticketing during live event.

  • Supervises Box Office Assistant and oversees merchandise sales.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience with live event box office sales and ticketing.

  • Ability to multi-task and supervise with ease

  • Familiarity with Eventbrite or similar ticketing platforms

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Square Card Reader, and iPad Mini devices


Salary

 

       $200 minimum stipend per event

[ Box Office Assistant ]
 

Job Description

Responsible for collaborating with Box Office Manager during live events to oversee audience ticketing and front-of-house check-in process. Lead contact and supervisor of merchandise sales during live event.


Duties

  • Assists with front-of-house ticketing and audience check-in during live event.

  • Oversees merchandise sales.

Qualifications

  • Experience with live event box office sales and ticketing.

  • Ability to multi-task, process guest entry with ease.

  • Familiarity with Eventbrite or similar ticketing platforms

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office, Square Card Reader, and iPad Mini devices


Salary

 

       $100 minimum stipend per event

[ Timekeeper ]
 

Job Description

Timekeeper uses digital stopwatch to time individual monologues during open call and live event.


Duties

  • Follows event rules specific to timing open call monologues and performances during live event.

  • Assists Tabulator with any necessary scoring duties or reporting during live event.

Qualifications

  • Ability to use digital timer

  • Familiarity with event format and rules

  • Must be available during entirety of open call and live event

 
Salary

 

       $100 minimum stipend per day, per event

[ Tabulator ]
 

Job Description

Tabulator is responsible for calculating judges’ scores during the open call and live event.


Duties

  • Responsible for calculating and submitting judges’ scores, during Open Call, to Stage Manager and City Producer to determine the Top 32 actors who are invited to compete in the live event.

  • Responsible for calculating and submitting judges’ scores, during live event, to Projections Designer & Operator, Stage Manager, and Emcee to determine which actors will advance through each round of live competition.

 

Qualifications

  • Background in accounting, mathematics, or similar field

  • Familiarity with event format and rules

  • Must be available during entirety of open call and live event

  • Ability to calculate numbers and check for errors efficiently

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel or similar spreadsheet program

 
Salary

 

       $100 minimum stipend per day, per event
