Monologue Madness, the tournament of acting celebrating its 10th anniversary, makes its West Coast debut in just a matter of days as the 2022 open call audition gets underway. Judges for the competition have just been announced and the line-up is quite stellar.
Dozens of actors are expected to showcase their best work in West Hollywood on Saturday, January 8, at The Actor's Company LA, as 32 of them attempt to make the cut into a single-elimination bracket to compete for a $1000 prize, on Monday, January 24.
This weekend's audition room will be overseen by Dr. Gail Humphries, Dean of The College of Fellows of the American Theater and Louis Stancil, celebrity acting coach and founder of LS Acting Studios.
"I couldn't ask for a better panel of judges for the launch of Monologue Madness in LA", says Producer Edward Daniels. "Dr. Gail Humphries has directed over 180 productions and Louis Stancil just opened his latest studio in Hollywood and was behind the table with us in Atlanta a few months ago!"
The 32 actors who make it beyond Saturday's open call will have two weeks to prepare their best comedic, dramatic, and classical monologues as they take to the stage before a new panel of judges on Monday, January 24th.
The LA competition will be judged by Dionne Audain (Actress, SAG-AFTRA, AEA, I Love Dick, How to Get Away With Murder), Maria Breese (Actress, Untogether, Electric Love) , Sam Weiner (CD, City Media Entertainment: Love Island, Tidying Up with Marie Kondo, Hell's Kitchen), and Michael Sanford (CSA, 2012 CSA Artios Award for his work on the Oscar winning film The Artist, 2013 Heller Award for Commercial Casting Director of Year.)
"I can't wait to see how the evening plays out as these talented and experienced judges narrow down the field during the five rounds of competition and name our first Monologue Madness LA Champion."
Monologue Madness LA online actor registration continues until all available slots are booked. Audience tickets are now available. All actors and audience must be fully vaccinated for participation.
