On Monday night in West Hollywood, the inaugural Monologue Madness LA proved successful as 32 actors battled through five rounds of competition before a standing-room only crowd at The Actor's Company. With judges scoring performances as close as one one-hundreth of a point in each round leading up to the Cold Read Round, it would be Bri Giger who would be crowned Champion amongst a deeply talented field.

"These actors came to put on a show and this audience was ready for it!" says Producer Edward Daniels.
Monologue Madness LA featured two-time No. 1 seed Thony Mena who led the field of actors advancing to the Classical Round, which also included Monologue Madness Quarantine Challenge 2020 Runner-Up Cameron Lopez, No. 2 seed Jim Grollman, No. 3 seed Alexandra Wright, and No. 4 seed Brian Nelson, Jr.

"I knew this would be a highly competitive evening but I was truly blown away by the level of talent from the very start of the show and the audience's response all night long. It was like being in church, at the theatre, and at a boxing match all at the same time!"
The Final Round featured two powerhouse actresses who showed some of the most versatility and range throughout the evening, Alexandra Wright and Bri Giger. Both performed a monologue from the film The Notebook by Jeremy Leven, with adjustments and suggestions from the judge's panel in mind. At the end of the night, Bri Giger was crowned the 1st Annual Monologue Madness LA Champion.
With the win, Bri Giger takes home $1000, the winner's trophy, and a complimentary one-hour private coaching session with Intentional Acting's Loren Chadima, a sponsor of this year's event.
Each of the Final Four actors will also receive a 30-minute consultation with Intentional Acting, a copy of Gary John Bishop's books Unfuck Yourself and Stop Doing that Shit.
Each of this year's LA Top 32 will receive an invitation to Confident Cold Readings and Last Minute Self-Tapes with Loren Chadima.
"The past few months have presented a rollercoaster of challenges that have included Covid delays, cancellations, red-eye flights, bank freezes, and new babies. I'll clarify, not my babies, but lots of babies," says Daniels. "By God, I'm here, we're here, and we're kicking off the 10th year of this thing!"
