Monologue Madness Atlanta Crowns First Champion!
After a nine-year run in Washington, DC, Monologue Madness took to the stage at Synchronicity Theatre in Altanta's Midtown Arts District and announces its 1st Annual Monologue Madness Atlanta Champion, Alia Shakira. Before a live audience, 16 actors chosen from an earlier open call audition took to the stage with their best monologues, before a panel of industry judges, to compete for the $1000 prize.
Holding true to her number-one ranking after the open call, Alia Shakira held the stage throughout the five-round competition, sealing the win against an amazingly talented Rebekah Tadros, both performing cold reads and adjustments with a monologue from the film The Notebook.
The event also featured Myles Wright, winner of the 2020 Monologue Madness National Quarantine Challenge, who finished in the Final Four alongside Chante Ferguson.
This year's Champion walks away with a $1000 prize in addition to an 8-week Scene Study Acting Course, 2-week Demo Reel course, and one-hour consultation with Louis Stancil, founder of LS Acting Studios, in addition to a 4-class group session courtesy of The Actor's Gym in Atlanta. Each of Atlanta's Final Four actors will also receive copies of Unf*ck Yourself and Stop Doing That Sh*t: End Self-Sabatoge and Demand Your Life Back, both books by Gary John Bishop.
Monologue Madness next travels to Los Angeles for a January open call and competition with plans to return to Atlanta in the fall of 2022. | www.MonologueMadness.net
